The proper way to commit suicide is to take an old towel and a handgun to the emergency room. Go into the actual patient area and into a partitioned treatment section. Pull the curtain shut. Tie the towel around your head. Lie down on the floor with the top of your head against the wall. Put the gun barrel in your mouth pointed about 30 degrees upward and shoot.

This method ensures the job is done without leaving you a vegatable and a burden on your family or anyone else. It involves nobody except those who see this sort of thing on a professional basis and therefore no trauma is induced on a family member or whoever finds you. There is no need for an ambulance to transport you to the hospital. You will be pronounced dead by an attending physician on site. The family will be notified and arrangements made for whatever funeral home they choose. They will not have to see you except whomever goes to identify you. An ambulance will transport you to the aforementioned funeral home. The mess in the emergency room will be cleaned by people very accustomed to the blood, etc. The area is ceramic tile and is relatively easy to clean up. The towel will catch most of the material.
